Hawaii Home Movies from the 1950’s, 60’s, and 70’s DVD
Like most Tiki collectors, the Careless Navigator loves Hawaii of the past and the present.
HAWAII HOME MOVIES is a selection of standard 8mm, super 8mm and 16mm films from 1950’s, 60’s and 70’s…taken by travelers/tourists to Hawaii from all over the world…some with sound, some silent. We have done very little editing. Unless it was edited at the time, this is basically as it came out of the camera.
All we have done is cleaned and repaired the film where needed. All are from the Careless Navigators film archive.
As you can imagine quality varies, but that seems to add to the overall feel. It works great as moving wallpaper in my Tiki Bar. l like to turn the DVD sound off, put my favourite Martin Denny or Arthur Lyman LP on, and drift off. Whether it is beaches, hula, hotels, cars or a drive around the Island, l have tried to include something for everyone in this compile. This DVD has been professionally replicated not duplicated. It comes in a professionally sealed and printed flat cardboard slip. The DVD is 0 region and NTSC (American standard) most DVD players these days play ntsc as well as pal… I know in Australia as with most countries they do. The DVD runs for an hour.
