The Careless Navigator has a man on the ground at Tiki Oasis this year.
Yes, it’s our good buddy Max from Taboo Island. Hopefully we will get one of these everyday starting with this….the Bali Hai bash. If you are reading this and you are at Tiki Oasis feel free to track Max down and add your own 10 cents worth to the report. Taboo Island is a vendor at Tiki Oasis.
Report No. One
Here’s your Channel 7 Action News update, reporting live, and slightly hungover, from San Diego.
As far as this reporter can remember, the opening night of Tiki Oasis was a blast. A huge crowd swarmed the Bali Hai and consumed most of the rum in the vicinity. Highlight of the night, of course, was the Tikiyaki Orchestra featuring Marina the Fire Eating Mermaid. (photo1).
The crowds seemed mighty pleased with the performances, but much more attention seem to be paid towards the tasty rum cocktails. Kami the Mermaid was a little confused at first, (photo2) but finally fitted right in after a couple Zombies.
Portions of the crowd did get a little out of control (photo3) but the Mermaids got the situation in hand mighty quickly (photo4).
All in all, Mr. Bali Hai was greatly pleased with the mood of the crowd. (photo5)
This is Cherry Daquari reporting live from San Diego. More to come soon…
- Finally a note from CN….It must have been a big night because somewhere along the way Max has changed his name to Cherry Daquari…
